Colin Brignall, type director of Letraset, designed the short-serifed Aachen Bold in 1969 to fill the need for a contemporary, heavy Egyptian letterform; Egyptians are nineteenth-century designs characterized by their slab serifs. Aachen Bold grabs attention in sports or commercial display work such as signage, advertising, T-shirts, or packaging.
Freestyle Script is a casual, unconnected script face designed in 1981 for Letraset by Martin Wait. Freestyle Script is a fine-line brush script that is useful for work requiring an informal, friendly style, such as announcements, invitations, and signage.
Inspired by posters of the early 1900s, Revue was designed for Letraset in 1968 by Colin Brignall.
